LIFT is seeking proposals from qualified organisations that are currently operating under a LIFT grant agreement for creating internships and student placement opportunities within LIFT-funded projects in Myanmar in 2018. This opportunity is open for last year graduates and new graduates, Myanmar and International, tp spend a few months within their project to work alongside their teams, learn about development practices and conduct some research.
A series of three workshops on ‘Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) to Support Local Planning for Climate-resilient Agriculture’ were organized in the Dry Zone of Myanmar to build capacities of local stakeholders to use PRA as a tool to support participatory decision-making and enable a more responsive policy environment for agricultural sustainability and farmer welfare in Myanmar’s Dry Zone. The workshops were held for stakeholders in the Sagaing Region from 7-9 September 2016, in the Mandalay Region from 14-16 September 2016 and in the Magway Region from 26-28 September 2016.
On 3-4 May 2016, CSAM successfully organized the Workshop on Business Management of Custom Hiring of Agricultural Machinery in the Dry Zone of Myanmar in Mandalay, Myanmar, in collaboration with the Network Activity Groups (NAG) and with the support of Department of Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar (DRD-MALI).
Under the project entitled “An Integrated Rural Economic and Social Development Programme for Livelihoods Improvement in the Dry Zone of Myanmar” funded by the Livelihoods and Food Security Trust Fund (LIFT - www.lift-fund.org), the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), in partnership with Network Activities Group (NAG), organized a Workshop on Best Practices in mung bean (green gram) Seed Production, Quality Control and Maintenance, in Magway, Myanmar, from 29 February-1 March 2016.
