A "Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Strengthening Local Capacities for Climate-resilient Agriculture in Myanmar’s Dry Zone" was held from 30-31 May 2016 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. The Dialogue was organized by CAPSA and Network Activities Group (NAG) in collaboration with the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) and the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM).
Thirty-two farmers from 17 Geogs participated in a day-long quiz competition on the theme “Understanding the Basics of Climate Change” at RDC-Wengkhar.
The program was aimed at creating awareness on the basic but useful information related to climate change (CC) which is now regarded as one of the major environmental problems globally. Therefore, it is important that people at the community level understand its importance and their role in saving the environment.
A high level eight members delegation from Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) led by Mr. Farhat Karim Hashmi, Executive Vice-President, Planning Research and Technology Division (PRTD) visited National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) for cooperation in promotion and transfer of modern agriculture technologies, new varieties of crops, machinery and scientific knowledge to small farmers to increase production of agriculture sector in order to meet the national goal of food security and to uplift the socio-economic condition of poor and small farmers of the country.
