Training and research opportunities
The global initiative “Powering Agriculture – An Energy Grand Challenge for Development” (PAEGC) is launching a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in cooperation with TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences. The 8-week course, which will run from February 1st to March 27th 2016, introduces challenges and solutions for sustainable energy use in the agriculture and food sector.
This call for applications of the Dryland Cereals Scholarship Program is being funded by the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Cereals (CRP-DC) and is administered by the Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI). The program will provide funding support for PhD degree for research work to promising young scientists who are / or will be working on barley, finger millet, pearl millet, and sorghum, in the disciplines of agriculture economics, food science, nutrition, molecular genetics, plant breeding, integrated crop management, environmental physiology, entomology, plant pathology, and gender studies.

AVRDC - The World Vegetable Center is now accepting applications for its 34th International Vegetable Training Course that will take place from 14 September to 4 December 2015 in Thailand. The course that is divided into three modules aims to enhance technical, scientific and managerial skills of the participants to contribute to sustainable development of their countries through increased production and consumption of health-promoting vegetables.
AFD and Cirad invite all innovators from Africa, the Mediterranean, Asia, Latin America and Overseas Territories to submit their applications for the innovations competition Climate Challenge Agriculture and Forestry. The aim of this competition is to support innovators and encourage them to make ideas and techniques reality, in order to address the challenges that the agriculture and forestry sectors need to face due to climate change, and support sustainable development.
